This Podi recipe is dedicated to Mishi , my lovely niece who lives in Delhi.
She was visiting us last December and I served her this podi with some rice and ghee. She loved it so much and kept asking for recipe. ( she is 12 trs old !)
Her main concern was that mom doesnt know how to make this so teach me !
We are from North India and no one has heard of podi at my native place. Now living in South of India we have developed taste and have discovered many lovely dishes here in which this podi takes No 1 position.
1 CUP BHUNA CHANA DRY ROAST AGAIN FOR FEW MINUTES.
1 CUP DRY ROASTED PEANUTS
1 CUP ARHAR DAAL ( TUR) DRY ROASTED
1/2 CUP CHANA DAAL DRY ROASTED
12 TO 14 CLOVES OF GARLIC ( WE ARE GARLIC LOVERS ) DO NOT NEED TO ROAST TOO MUCH. I ALWAYS PUT THEM IN MICROWAVE FOR 1 MIN ON HIGH
TRICK IS TO DRY ROAST EVERYTHING SEPARATELY .
IN THIS YOU NEED
1 TSP JEERA DRY ROAST
6 DRY RED CHILLIES
1 TSP WHOLE DRY ROASTED DHANIA SEEDS
ONCE ALL THIS IS READY JUST GRIND INTO A POWDER AND KEEP IN TUPPERWARE OR GLASS JAR.
ENJOY WITH HOT RICE AND GHEE ,DOSA, OR IDLI 🙂
